Nez Perce County Jail Roster
The official local custody source is the Sheriff Office In Custody page, which links to a PDF list for the Adult Detention Center. The list is not a searchable web database. It is a posted report that users open and search with the browser or PDF find tool. The county states that reports are updated Monday through Thursday, weekend and holiday activity appears on Monday reports, and the underlying jail database updates every 24 hours.
The roster is narrow by design. It lists adults housed at the Nez Perce County Adult Detention Center for criminal offenses. It does not include juvenile offenders, full charge histories, court calendars, mugshots, bond terms, or release dates. The sheriff warns that the information should not be used as the sole basis for legal action. If status matters, the Detention Center must confirm it by phone or in person.
The Adult Detention Center page shows the jail contact, mail rules, visitation vendor, and PREA reporting options used with Nez Perce County inmate records.
That jail page is the local source for custody logistics that do not appear on the roster itself, including mail handling and remote visit setup.
Search Nez Perce County Inmate Records
Because the Nez Perce County inmate roster is a PDF, the best search method is simple and precise. Open the in-custody list from the sheriff page, use the PDF search function, and try last-name spellings before relying on a negative result. A very recent booking, release, transfer, or court action may not show until the next update cycle.
- Open the sheriff In Custody page and select the current in-custody list.
- Use PDF find to search by last name, then by first name if needed.
- Review the name number and full name shown in the roster row.
- Call the Detention Center at 208-799-3132 when current custody status must be confirmed.
- Use iCourt or District Court for the criminal case record if the roster does not show charges or court dates.
The sheriff in-custody page is also where the county posts its update warning for the roster.
The update notice matters because a roster search may lag behind release, court transport, booking, or transfer activity.
Nez Perce County Roster Fields
The local roster does not have a form with typed search fields. The report itself supplies only a few visible fields, so it should be treated as a custody pointer rather than a full inmate profile. The PDF field structure also explains why the county tells users to confirm active custody through the jail.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Inmate List - Total | Roster count | n/a | Shows the total number listed in the report capture. |
| Name # | Numeric field | n/a | Name number used for roster identity and Smart Deposit matching. |
| Name | Text | n/a | Shows last name, first name, and middle name or initial when listed. |
| Timestamp | PDF footer | n/a | Shows report date, time, and page number. |
| Search field | None | n/a | Use browser or PDF find because no county search box is provided. |
What Nez Perce County Inmate Records Show
Many county jail sites show booking photos, charges, bail, court dates, and release fields. Nez Perce County's public in-custody PDF is more limited. That limit is important for anyone trying to link custody status to a court case, warrant, or charge. A person may be in the jail list while the related court record, charging document, or payment issue appears only in iCourt or at District Court.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Mugshot | Not shown in the public roster capture. |
| Name number | The numeric identifier next to the inmate name. |
| Full name | The public name entry used to confirm the listed person. |
| Charges | Not shown; court charge details must be checked through court records. |
| Bond or bail | Not shown in the roster. |
| Court date | Not shown; use iCourt or District Court for hearing information. |
| Juvenile status | Juvenile offenders are excluded from the adult custody list. |
| Legal confirmation | Only the jail can confirm current custody by phone or in person. |
For the criminal case file tied to an arrest or booking, use the court case channels rather than the jail roster. Court charges after arrest are tracked separately from custody status.
Nez Perce County Jail Contact
The Adult Detention Center is part of the sheriff complex in Lewiston. Official sources did not locate a published capacity number, so a capacity should not be assumed. The jail page says people entering the facility may be searched for contraband or weapons and may be subject to a body scanner. Voluntary services are limited to pastoral services.

County Jail vs IDOC Search
Nez Perce County inmate records are not the same as Idaho Department of Correction records. The county roster covers people housed in the Adult Detention Center. The IDOC Resident/Client Search covers people under IDOC jurisdiction, including prison, probation, and parole records. A person sentenced to state custody, released to supervision, or supervised in District 2 may appear in IDOC records even when the county jail list no longer shows that person.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Options / Format Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Last Name | Text | Required unless IDOC number used | Partial last name accepted with at least first two characters. |
| First Name | Text | No | Narrows name search. |
| IDOC Number | Text/numeric | Required unless last name used | Partial IDOC number accepted with at least first three digits. |
| Search | Button | Yes | Runs the search. |
| Reset | Button | No | Clears the form. |
The IDOC sample detail includes name, IDOC number, status, age, supervising district, officer, offense, sentencing county, case number, release-to-supervision date, and sentence satisfaction date. It also warns that data may change quickly.
The IDOC search page is the statewide route when a Nez Perce County inmate search needs prison, probation, or parole context.
Use the county jail list and IDOC search together only after noting that they answer different custody questions.
Nez Perce County Inmate Visitation
Friends and family onsite visitation is no longer facilitated at the Adult Detention Center. Remote video visitation is available through inmatesales.com or its app, and users schedule visits through their own account. Staff do not schedule those visits for the public. The facility search label listed in the research is "NEZ PERCE ID."
| Visit type | Availability | Schedule | Setup / vendor | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Friends/family onsite | No | n/a | n/a | County says onsite friend and family visitation is no longer facilitated. |
| Remote video | Yes | Daily, 8:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. | inmatesales.com or app | Visitor schedules through their account; confirm current cost in the account. |
| Attorney/legal | Separate | Not located | Contact Detention Center | Legal mail still uses the physical jail address. |
| Pastoral services | Limited | Not located | Contact facility | Voluntary services are limited to pastoral only. |
Nez Perce County Jail Mail
Standard non-legal friend and family mail has a special processing address. Effective November 1, 2025, it must be sent to the inmate name and inmate ID, Nez Perce County Jail ID, PO Box 76550, Highland Heights, KY 41076. Mail received at other addresses after January 1, 2026 is rejected. Legal mail still goes to the jail at 1150 Wall Street in Lewiston.
- Mail must have the inmate name, inmate ID, and a return address.
- Standard mail must be letter size, thin enough for scanning, and free of prohibited add-ons.
- Incoming mail may be opened, inspected, or read for contraband or rule violations.
- After mail is scanned to the inmate, it is destroyed.
- Photos are the only permitted enclosure, with up to 10 on photo paper.
Note: Legal mail sent to the wrong address, certified mail requiring inmate signature, and postage-due mail may be returned.
Commissary and Inmate Funds
Inmate commissary deposits use Smart Deposit. The county page says the depositor needs the inmate name, the Name Number used by the roster, the facility name Nez Perce County Adult Detention Center, and Idaho as the state. Major credit and debit cards are accepted. Phone deposits are available at 1-866-394-0490. Official county text did not locate a fee or deposit cap, so users should confirm vendor charges before paying.
The sheriff commissary page identifies Smart Deposit and the data needed to match a payment to a Nez Perce County inmate record.
The Name Number connection is useful because the same term appears on the public in-custody report and in the deposit instructions.
Sheriff Records and PREA
Law enforcement reports are handled outside the jail roster. The Sheriff Records Division has a separate public records process, and report requests may be reviewed by the Prosecutor Office before release. Idaho public-record exemptions may lead to redaction or denial when records involve investigations, privacy, fair trial issues, techniques, sources, or safety.
PREA reports can be made by asking detention administration at 208-799-3139 for a supervisor. Written complaints may be addressed to the Sheriff's Office, Attn: Sheriff Bryce Scrimsher, 1150 Wall St., Lewiston, ID 83501. Anonymous outside reporting is directed to Latah County Sheriff's Office at 208-883-5705.
